• We must build more housing and infrastructure at all costs
  • Housing Is The Everything Crisis is mostly right
  • Contributes to many things wrong with society and makes people entering the adult world rightly feel like their options suck.
  • Housing is the largest expense for most people
  • If property right changes aren't sufficient the government must step in and force the issue by building more housing in bulk where rent is highest
  • If we do not do this we will devolve into a political disaster of epic proportions as people vote for Not This repeatedly as they drown in debt
  • Preventing density leads to anti-outsider/anti-immigrant sentiment as prices go up and people blame migrants to their area
    • Applies for intra and inter country migration in the same way despite people referring to it differently
  • "Rent stabilization" that's inflation tied + 10 percent is probably good or ok
    • Being fleeced at end of lease into moving to another apartment in the same building to avoid a huge increase is bad, rent stabilization prevents this
    • "Rent control" is probably bad, build enough housing that basic rent stabilization is enough.
• Property rights should be respected in ways that create good things instead of only in ways that create bad things
  • Right to Build: If you own land you should be able to build on it.
    • Where any form of review is required it must be:
      • granted or denied within 90 days. if this deadline is passed you can by right hire an assessor to review instead of local gov.
      • without an open to public comment process that can be used to delay the process indefinitely. we shouldn't be giving everyone nearby a veto, very anti-freedom, anti-abundance, anti-prosperity, leads to Do Nothing Ever.
      • denial must be justified with specific reasons that are enshrined in state or federal law rather than more local regulations that face NIMBY incentives from existing residence owners
    • Restrictive residential zoning and requirements that properties meet strict visual standards should be abolished entirely
      • Preventing building more than a certain height or occupancy on most land wastes large swathes of space and is a net loss for society
      • Small businesses and shops should be allowed to be built in most places without special exemptions. This has been a large part of historic cities and villages. The modern approach which divvies up cities into commercial and residential areas discourages innovation and makes it harder for people to start businesses.
      • Preventing buildings from being painted or decorated in specific ways is a violation of freedom of speech (art is speech)
    • Environmental review should be fixed.
      • Ensuring we don't fuck up our natural environment is important, preventing building a nuclear reactor because a bee once lived in the area is not.
      • Controlled burns need to happen on time or people die.
      • I know we can do better than this.
      • If we can't do better than this we need to repeal the environmental review laws. :/
  • Right to Repair: If you own something you should be able to fix it or reverse engineer it and distribute designs and tools for repair purposes.
  • Right to Purchase: First sale doctrine should apply to digital goods, including perpetually licensed goods that act like purchases, and this should be grandfathered to apply to existing goods.
    • Transfer cooldown period allowed eg can't transfer a game if it was transferred to you within the last 90 days
• Energy costs must decrease or stay stable over time in real terms
  • This is something to aspire to and we should ensure policies achieve it
  • High energy costs increase burden at all nodes within our economy and are anti-prosperity
  • We can do better without making climate change worse
  • We should fund more research into energy storage: if we can bring costs of this down faster we can skip to solar + storage
  • Nuclear Power should be possible to build for a sane cost, Down with ALARA
  • We should fund more research into fusion power (including through grants and loans for the existing fusion power startups and entirely new research projects)

  • Currently a medication being available on shelves is a strong signal that it DOES NOT WORK or IS OLD because almost all new drugs are made prescription only and only supplements with no known effect or a history of being sold before being demonstrated to work can be on the shelf.
    • It is mind bogggling that we have made being available a signal of ineffectiveness.
    • The narrow escapes often require legal fights with the FDA eg N-Acetyl Cysteine being shown to be useful and the FDA trying to remove it from the market despite it being sold for decades as a supplement.
  • Specific medication changes:
    • That means medication for HRT and abortion and it means hydroxychloroquine. Your pet issue is included here. Freedom applies to everything and it doesn't go away because you don't like the specific use!
      • If we could Just do good things current approach would be fine. The current approach is supposed to allow clearly good things OTC, but has failed entirely.
      • Many countries effectively have everything OTC and do fine, similarly online imports are available for most things regardless of Rx status but with less supply chain safety
    • Lisdexamfetamine should be available over the counter at low doses. It was designed to be hard to abuse as an alternative to adderall, and that was a success. Making it as hard to get as adderall makes no sense.
    • If we make lisdexamfetamine readily available ADHD people will be more productive and we'll make Line Go Up!
  • A significant portion of modern healthcare is rentseeking being allowed to choose to purchase medicine or medical technology.
  • Mandating OTC access avoids needless parasitism, avoids pushing people to purchase ineffective but legal over the counter scam medicine.
  • Could be convinced that requiring passing some sort of exam for access to more things is reasonable, if yes this needs to only require taking the test and passing not forced taking a long course

• Controlled addictive substances should be generally legal to posess in small quantities, but many should still be illegal to sell

    • Paying for extensions may be an acceptable option but should be very expensive and go to the general fund

    • There should be a broad exception to ALL IP LAW for the purposes of:
      • Interoperability - including selling hardware that interoperates with other products
      • Research
      • Repair
    • Lack of interop incentivizes monopoly
  • Software patents should be abolished
    • These reduce innovation and are a net loss for society; judges and the patent office aren't experts and can't tell what's obvious
    • Pal world patent examples where Nintendo tried to use THROWING A BALL in 3d as a patent despite having done variations on this for multiple decades.
    • Software patents don't exist in many other jurisdictions
  • If copyright is changed to prevent AI training that should:
    • have a further reduced period compared to general copyright term so AI isn't hopelessly behind culture
    • not apply to any AI that is deemed equivalent to humans/given legal personhood and agency if such entities are created
      • if slaves to some corp this provision does not apply, has to be self directed learning
      • if we have AI that meets the parent bullet and is a slave to some corp at the same time wtf are we doing that's awful
• Education should include mandatory participation in a miniature financial system
  • It should include interest rates and basic income and predatory loans
  • Try to get people used to working with money and building intuition for financial concepts
  • Try to force people to learn the problems they'll face in the real world so they don't leave school and immediately get exploited by an 84 month 24% APR loan
  • Accelerated timescale to get people used to how over a long timescale the total paid matters as well as the monthly payment.
